The company has a total complement of over 900 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region and seeks to fill the position of Solar System Technician at Nairobi Head Office.
Job Description
- Carry out site surveys for optimal design of solar systems
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain & repair solar energy systems, including inverters, Lithium batteries, hybrid systems & grid-tied systems.
- Program & troubleshoot power storage battery packs, digital inverters & electronic controllers
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections & performance monitoring of solar systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to solar installations both on site and remotely.
- Ensure all solar equipment installations comply with industry standards & safety regulations.
- Provide technical support & guidance to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, & repairs.
- Inspect & sign-off installations done by other technicians.
- Keep abreast with emerging solar technologies & industry trends through continuous training
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a technician (or similar role) in solar technology installation, with emphasis on inverters & Lithium batteries
- Holder of an EPRA T3 Solar PV Technician license.
Critical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of, & experience in solar equipment, particularly inverters, Lithium batteries, grid tied systems & hybrid systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication & customer service skills.
- Ability to manage projects, work independently & as part of a team.
