Job Summary:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced School Accountant to manage our school’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective resource utilization. The successful candidate will provide financial leadership, guidance, and support to the school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. _Financial Management_
– Maintain accurate financial records, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
– Prepare and manage school budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
– Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and school policies.
2. _Accounting Operations_
– Process and reconcile payments, invoices, and expenses.
– Manage payroll, salaries, and benefits for staff.
– Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
3. _Financial Reporting_
– Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
– Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
– Provide financial insights to support school decision-making.
4. _Audit and Compliance_
– Ensure preparation for internal and external audits.
– Maintain compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
5. _Cash Management_
– Manage school cash flow, including bank accounts and investments.
– Monitor and control expenses, ensuring adherence to budget.
6. _Financial Planning and Strategy_
– Participate in budget planning and financial strategic planning.
– Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
_Requirements:_
1. Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
2. Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the education sector.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management systems.
4. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
*Working Conditions:*
1. Full-time position: Monday to Friday and sometimes weekends.
2. Occasional evening meetings or events.
