Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent.
Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda /CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Planner at the Rwenzori Plant in Kampala.
As a Maintenance Planner, you will report directly to the Unit Manager Packaging
Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of a Maintenance Planner is to manage maintenance systems, generate routine and planned maintenance schedules, support maintenance team in the execution of maintenance and facilitate problem solving so that line availability and efficiency is maximized, breakdowns are minimized, and manufacturing costs are kept to a minimum.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Update task list, maintenance plan and emergency work orders using the standard, and create sub-works orders.
• Plan the execution of the autonomous maintenance and running schedules for the unit.
• Communicate, distribute, assign and monitor execution of maintenance plan to team members, including contractors, following the
planning cycle.
• Deploy asset management strategy, provide specialist asset management support as well as
• implement asset management system audits to evaluate data integrity.
• Manage the maintenance of tools, spares and ensure full accountability and availability of the required tools and spares including creation
of spares reservations.
• Initiate situation and systemic problem solving for loop closure to effectively manage machine breakdown.
• Populate reports such as Daily Downtime and 5 Why Board updates; indicating the status of 5 Why completion and the quality of 5 Why’s
received.
• Conduct spot checks on Short Interval Controls (preform & hourly efficiency, Line “V-Profile” speeds) as part of Daily Walk About Effectively
raise and plan Corrective Maintenance work Plan as per schedule.
• Initiate, Implement Engineering changes in MSD and verify that the Engineering changes have been executed successfully and
documented and change request is closed.
• Drive maturity of the system through supply chain way work practices.
• Adhere to the food safety (FSSC) requirements and Quality standards at all levels (local, international and CCBU policy). Report any works or
anyone that compromises quality and food safety on site.
Qualifications
• Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or equivalent Field.
Experience
• 3 to 5 years production engineering experience with 3 years in supervisory level.
• Knowledge of Packaging in a manufacturing plant will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Systems Dynamics Experience is preferred
