Primary Purpose of the Role:
- Responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and installation activities independently, including handling all electrical repairs.
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities.
- Expected to work with minimal instruction or assistance, addressing new or unusual situations as they arise, and to be fully aware of operating procedures, engineering drawings, and policies of the work unit.
Job Description:
- Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on all electrical equipment in the factory.
- Maintain and perform routine repairs on electrically powered equipment and appliances, following equipment service manual instructions.
- Conduct condition-based maintenance on equipment, addressing any abnormalities detected.
- Undertake major machine repairs, modifications, or improvements, including hydraulic system repairs, periodic flashing, inspection of electric units, repair of portable electrical equipment, gear box repairs, and bearing replacements.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Professional Qualifications:
- A professional certification in a related field is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or Maintenance Engineer in a busy FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
- Prior experience with process and maintenance on injection and extrusion moulding machines.
Skills:
- In-depth, practical knowledge and experience in maintenance and repairs.
- Systematic problem-solving approach.
- Strong circuit diagram interpretation skills.
- Troubleshooting proficiency.
- Ability to participate in failure investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
