About the Job

The Preventative Maintenance Planner is responsible for administering and coordinating the Planned maintenance and repair of Lafarge A&C equipment and facilities. One of the primary objectives of the role is to improve the value of all plant assets through increased reliability and lower operating costs. while allowing the operation of the equipment to meet production requirements within budget guidelines.

What you’ll be doing

  • The Preventative Maintenance Planner is responsible for preparing all planned maintenance to be carried out across the business, by Local and Central teams as well as contractors. In that role, the Mechanical Planner will work closely with the Central team, Plant coordinators and Maintenance personnel on the following tasks and responsibilities in order to reinforce Proper Planning & Preparation in line with the companies PMR scheme and guidelines:
  • Generation and completion of the PMR scheme, for all locations, built around relevant Group /OEM guidance, Legal requirements and Industry best practices.
  • Collaborates with all relevant parties on requirements for shutdown planning i.e. personal, third parties’ services, materials, spare parts, equipment, tools, time, critical path.
  • Generates purchase requisitions for spares and third party services for all works to ensure that spares and services will be delivered on time. Provide budget information for major works being undertaken,
  • Assure that special and repetitive jobs come with a standard work order.
  • Lead the weekly KPI revision meeting to include closure reports on pending works as well as the work planning confirmation for the next week
  • Takes care of his own development needs.
  • Assist Central and Local teams to ensure that that all works have the required H&S information.
  • The list is not exhaustive as the planner may be required to perform other functions as may be assigned by the manager.

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering or a minimum of 1 to 3 years of fieldwork experience in manufacturing industry. CMRP certification will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling in a manufacturing setting
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in Heavy engineering industry (Mechanical and or Electrical)
  • Knowledge of gearboxes, transmissions, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding techniques, and lubrication schemes for Fixed and mobile equipment.
  • Good knowledge of Machinery Condition Monitoring technologies and maintenance philosophies.
  • Computer literacy is essential

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Mechanical non-destructive testing.
  • Electrical inspection and testing regime
  • Knowledge of PMR methodologies
  • ERP SAP system
  • Good knowledge of RCA methodology and facilitating skills.
