Role Summary: The Field Service Technician is a critical member of our growing team. For an early-career professional or engineer with electronics experience, it is a great opportunity to develop your skills and build a career in the growing solar industry.
Responsibilities: You are responsible for a variety of mission critical areas that will give you exposure to all aspects of our operations and technology:
- Customer technical support (level 2) and support to our customer services team;
- Field service repairs, removals and installations, involving travel;
- Testing and quality control of solar, battery, and communications hardware received from manufacturer;
- Assembly, soldering and production activities of products for testing and/or sale;
- Product development support, including prototype hardware programming, measurement, and testing;
- Troubleshooting of hardware failures, determining root cause and potential fixes;
Skills and Qualifications:
The Field Service Technician needs to be experienced with a number of technologies, responsible, and eager to learn:
- Hold a Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical engineering or, manufacturing process control or related field;
- Minimum of two (2) years in digital circuitry and electronics, including measurement and assembly (basic);
- Minimum of two (2) years in installations and maintenance of solar systems.
- Experience with technical support, either in a call-center or internal context;
- Excellent communication skills: able to diagnose and instruct;
- Highly organized and process-oriented;
- Thorough with great attention to detail;
- Excellent quality control skills for work done;
- Desire to develop as a technologist and learn the solar industry;
- Quick, flexible learner that can acquire some of the necessary skills on the job.
Location:The roles are based in Yumbe and Gulu and/or surrounding regions based on the need to be determined by the immediate supervisor with a considerate amount of travel.
Pay:Compensation is a competitive salary based on the role and prior experience.
No relocation bonus or stipend is included.
