Accounting and Costing Officer

Goshen Paradise Hotel is a newly established boutique hotel situated in Kendu Bay municipality, Homabay County, along the Kendu Bay-Homabay highway. Our hotel offers a range of services including comfortable accommodation, dining, conference facilities, and meeting rooms. We also boast scenic gardens ideal for corporate and social events.

We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our team in the role of Accounting and Costing Officer.

Position Overview: The Accounting and Costing Officer will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring that all expenses are properly tracked and recorded. This role also involves analyzing cost structures and ensuring efficient allocation of resources. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to support cost control and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare regular financial statements.
  • Analyze and monitor the cost of operations to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments.
  • Collaborate with department heads to set cost budgets and track performance.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Maintain statutory records and file all tax returns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPAK finalist
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in accounting or costing roles.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Good understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis and tax matters.
