Job Description:
As an Accountant Intern at Contrarian Capital, you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Tax Preparation and Compliance: Accurately prepare and submit individual tax returns in accordance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Compile and analyse financial data to create comprehensive financial statements and tax filings for the company.
- Management Reporting: Prepare detailed profit and loss statements and balance sheets for management review.
- Payroll Oversight: Ensure precise and timely processing of payroll, ensuring accurate employee payments.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous financial records using advanced accounting software.
- Bookkeeping: Manage all bookkeeping activities, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports.
- Process Improvement: Assist in the development and refinement of accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degreein accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- A minimum of B+ in Mathematics in KCSE and an overall KCSE grade of at least B+.
- Strong skills in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
